Cracked or Broken Teeth?
Unhappy with the shape and colour of your teeth?

A dental crown is a “cap” that covers a tooth entirely and is used to strengthen a damaged tooth or to change the appearance of a tooth. Dental crowns are generally made from ceramic, metal (gold) or a hybrid and are made by a skilled technician. They restores the natural or desired shape of the tooth as well as making it stronger.
Crowns is a two part process with appointments spaced 1-2 weeks apart.
In the first appointment, the crown preparation appointment is where your dentist will remove any decay or old fillings to make a solid foundation. Moulds of your tooth will be taken so the crown can be made to fit your tooth perfectly. We will then make you a temporary crown so that you can function as normal until your crown fit appointment.
The dental crown fit appointment is where the temporary crown is removed, the tooth is cleaned and the crown is tried in. When you and your dentist are happy with the fit, look and feel the crown is cemented into place and bite checked.
Dental crowns have a lifetime expectancy of 10-20 years when well maintained with good dental hygiene.
